About Beijing University of Chemical Technology

Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT) is a key national university under the direct administration of the Ministry of Education of China. It is part of the “211 Project” and the “985 Project Innovation Platform,” as well as a designated “Double First-Class” university.

Founded in 1958 as Beijing Institute of Chemical Technology, the university was renamed Beijing University of Chemical Technology in 1994. After more than 60 years of development, BUCT has evolved into a comprehensive university with a strong focus on engineering while also offering programs in science, humanities, law, economics, management, and medicine.

BUCT has three campuses—Chaoyang, Haidian, and Changping—covering an area of over 3,000 acres. The university consists of 14 schools, offers 57 undergraduate programs, and hosts multiple national key laboratories and research centers.
